Tragic Accident in Gumla Leaves 4 Dead and 29 Injured Following Wedding Celebration

Tragic Gumla accident: 4 dead, 29 injured after wedding; overcrowded pick-up vehicle overturns. Hospital in chaos, treatment ongoing.

Gumla – A horrific road accident occurred late last night near Jarda village in Gumla district, leaving four people dead and 29 injured, 11 of whom are in critical condition.

A pick-up vehicle carrying 30-40 people, including children, youth, elderly men and women, was returning from the wedding of a daughter in Sarangdih village when it suddenly overturned three times.

The vehicle was carrying more passengers than its capacity, which may have contributed to the accident.

The deceased include the bride’s parents, Sundar Gayar and Sundari Devi, as well as Phulikar Kindo and Sabita Devi.

The injured were initially taken to the Community Health Center Jaypur, where they were later referred to Sadar Hospital Gumla for better treatment.

Some of the critically injured were further referred to Ranchi RIMS.

The tragic accident has transformed the joyous atmosphere of the wedding into one of mourning.

In response to the emergency, a team of doctors at Sadar Hospital Gumla have been treating the injured in camp mode.

Sadar Hospital Gumla’s Deputy Superintendent, hospital management, and all hospital employees have been working tirelessly to manage the situation.

The chaotic scene at the hospital has been a testament to the severity of the incident.

The accident has had a far-reaching impact on the community, as the seriously injured youth, Belu Barga, is from Kusmi Police Station in Chhattisgarh.

His wife and 9-month-old child have also sustained minor injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing, but the overcrowded pick-up vehicle is considered a significant contributing factor.

Police authorities are urging the public to adhere to vehicle capacity limits and prioritize safety during transportation.
