Jamshedpur – A railway track blockade at the Kalunga station in the Rourkela-Jharsuguda rail section of the Chakradharpur rail division of South Eastern Railway has led to significant disruptions in train operations since Sunday morning.
Local residents have reportedly blocked the railway track, forcing the railway authorities to cancel, divert, and shorten the journeys of several trains running along the route.
Among the affected trains, seven have been canceled, including the 18189 Tata-Ernakulam Express, 22839 Raulkela-Bhubaneswar Intercity Express, 18125 Raulkel-Puri Express Intercity Express, 18109 Tata-Itwari Express, 08167 Raulkela-Jharsuguda MEMU Special, 18176 Jharsuguda-Hatia MEMU Express, and 08168 Jharsuguda-Roulkela MEMU Express.
Moreover, the 22861 Howrah-Katabanji Ispat Express, which was scheduled to leave Howrah for Katambaji on April 30, will now terminate at Raulkela.
Similarly, the 12872 Titlagarh-Howrah Ispat Express, which was set to leave Titlagarh for Howrah on the same day, will end its journey at Sambalpur.
Railway authorities are currently working to resolve the situation and minimize the inconvenience caused to passengers.
