Jamshedpur: Father Pius Fernandes, the Loyola School’s former principal, was given an emotional farewell on Saturday in a farewell function organized at the school.
Father Pius, a National Teachers Award winner, retired after more than 30 years of service. He has had an illustrious career throughout and was famous for his amiable disposition and rapport with his students.
Father Pius is known for transforming Loyola School into a flourishing educational facility during his leadership.
The students at Loyola flourished in academics, sports, and the arts under his direction, and the institution rose to national prominence. His foresight, commitment, and labor of love made the school a shining example of greatness.
At the poignant departure ceremony, students and staff members shared personal accounts of Father Pius’s enduring influence on their lives.
Several of them praised him for his generosity, passion, and constant dedication to perfection.
Several students spoke about how he had encouraged them to follow their aspirations and had assisted them in overcoming their personal and academic challenges.
Father Pius thanked the parents, teachers, and kids in his final address for their help and for making his job so fulfilling. He also expressed his satisfaction with the accomplishments of the faculty and students and urged them to keep aiming for greatness. Despite his heavy heart, he promised everyone that his legacy would live on.
The kids and staff gave Father Pius a standing ovation as they bid him goodbye for his many years of selfless service.
He received congratulations on his retirement from Team Loyola and was honored for his many years of community service.
Over his career, Father Pius has worked at several locations, including Dhanbad and Bhubaneswar, and has served as the head of multiple schools.
He also taught at Jamshedpur’s Loyola College of Education, in his earlier years as a teacher.
