Railway employee dies in accident in Tatanagar Loco Shed

Jamshedpur: A railway employee died on Saturday in an accident in Electric Loco Shed in Tatanagar, about half a kilometre from Tatanagar railway station. The deceased railway employee has been identified as Binod Singh.

The accident caused quite a commotion in the area. Sources say that while lifting an object, the ceiling of the crane broke and this injured Binod Singh, 54, seriously.

Injured railway employee was rushed to Railway Hospital in Khas Mahal. However, the employee could not be saved and he succumbed to his injuries.

The accident and its tragic fatality has caused anger among the railway employees.

Railway employees allege that adequate safety measurements are not employed in the loco shed and employees are not provided with safety equipments putting their lives at immense risk.

A railway magistrate prepared an inquest and the dead body was sent for post mortem.
