Elderly Vegetable Seller Dies After Being Struck by Oil Tanker Near Tatanagar Station

In a heart-wrenching incident, a 74-year-old vegetable seller was fatally hit by an oil tanker near Tatanagar station, stirring sorrow among the Jamshedpur community.

JAMSHEDPUR – A vegetable lost his life in a road accident on Monday near the Second Entry Gate of Tatanagar station under the Burmamines police station jurisdiction. The deceased was hit by an oil tanker. The police have seized the tanker involved in the accident.

The unfortunate event took place on Monday near the second entry gate of Tatanagar station, under the jurisdiction of the Burmamines police station.

The victim, identified as Vineshwar Prasad, a resident of Jehanabad, succumbed to his injuries shortly after being rushed to Sadar Hospital by locals, where he was declared dead upon arrival.

Vineshwar Prasad had made his life in Jamshedpur for the last 4-5 years, living in a rented house near the Burmamines level Talkies roundabout.

He was known for selling potatoes and onions on the footpath near Star Talkies.

At the time of the tragic accident, Prasad was crossing the road when he was struck by the tanker, leading to severe injuries.

The tanker driver, Vishwajit Sao, immediately stopped his vehicle and, with the assistance of bystanders, took Prasad to the hospital, though it was too late to save him.

Upon receiving news of the incident, the police swiftly arrived at the hospital, conducted the necessary legal formalities, and have since launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The police have seized the tanker involved in the incident and are currently interrogating the driver, Vishwajit Sao, as part of their ongoing investigation.

The authorities are also making efforts to contact Vineshwar Prasad’s family to inform them of the tragic loss.

This incident has cast a shadow over the community, highlighting the dangers that pedestrians and small vendors face on the roads of Jamshedpur.
