Christians celebrate Christmas with traditional gaiety amid pandemic concerns

Jamshedpur: The Christian community in Jamshedpur celebrated Christmas with traditional gaiety. A large number of members of the Christian community went to different churches of the city and prayed. Prayer meetings were also held at different churches of the city.

The general secretary of National Christian Council N S Raju said that since this year has been marked by coronavirus pandemic, all the social distancing norms were being complied with by the community. Most of the people wore masks while praying and celebrating the occasion.

He said that Christmas was observed with special caution in the city by the members of the Christian community as corona pandemic had necessitated special caution.

While the enthusiasm remained the same for the normal devotee, the pandemic did have some impact on the celebrations as people were also concerned about social distancing norms and their compliance.
