Jamshedpur Transporters Demand Vehicle Theft Crackdown

Transport group seeks action against rampant vehicle thefts in Jamshedpur.

In Jamshedpur, vehicle owners urge police for stricter measures against theft, facing daily losses up to Rs 35,000.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Transport Welfare Association has made a plea to the local police for more rigorous actions against vehicle theft.

They report daily losses ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 35,000 due to thefts.

Thieves target moving vehicles, especially between Slag Road, Litti Chowk, and Bhuiyadih Bus Stand.

When drivers resist, they face threats from the thieves armed with weapons.

This plea was presented in a demand letter to the Constable Superintendent, City.

The association emphasized the recent spike in these incidents.

Akhilesh Kumar Yadav, the association’s president, highlighted the theft of copper wire and other items from vehicles.

The request for intervention was made directly to the District Police Headquarters.
