Young Indians Jamshedpur Engage with Foreign Minister on Key Issues

Vishal Aggarwala of Young Indians Jamshedpur led a crucial discussion with Dr. S. Jaishankar, addressing topics like dual citizenship, entrepreneurship visas, and Visa on Arrival policies.

JAMSHEDPUR – Vishal Aggarwala, representing Young Indians in Jamshedpur, recently moderated a significant interactive session with External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.

The one-hour dialogue, filled with critical discussions, saw Jaishankar addressing various important issues.

Aggarwala raised the question of easing business processes for Indian entrepreneurs and the feasibility of granting dual citizenship.

Dr. Jaishankar acknowledged the complexity of providing dual citizenship, citing security and economic challenges.

He mentioned the ongoing debate on dual citizenship and the role of Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) in meeting the rising demand.

Aggarwala also inquired about the Indian government’s stance on entrepreneurship visas, a common provision in many countries.

The Foreign Minister recognized this as a valuable suggestion, indicating that the Ministry might explore this direction.

Additionally, the session touched upon the expansion of the Visa on Arrival program.

Dr. Jaishankar emphasized the need for Indians abroad to maintain commendable conduct and embrace local traditions for enhancing India’s global image.

This condition, he suggested, is essential for further advancement of such initiatives.

The session highlighted the proactive engagement of Young Indians Jamshedpur in international policy discussions and underscored the critical role of dialogue in shaping government policies.
