JAMSHEDPUR – Progressive farmers and extension workers from East Singhbhum district received specialized training in the National Pest Surveillance System (NPSS) to better monitor and control crop diseases.
The program was conducted under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. Moreover, experts from the Central Integrated Pest Management Centre, Ranchi provided comprehensive guidance to participants.
Technical Training Components
Ashok Kumar H.P., Centre Head, shared pest control strategies. “The mobile app will revolutionize pest management,” noted a technical expert. Furthermore, the training covered identification of beneficial insects and various IPM methods.

Technical assistants Nitish Kumar Suman and Purnendra Mishra demonstrated the NPSS mobile app. Additionally, farmers learned to upload clear pictures of pest incidents for expert advice. The system enables real-time monitoring of crop health.

Block Technical Managers from various blocks attended the session. Meanwhile, ATMA officials emphasized continued support for farmers. The program aims to strengthen agricultural extension services across the district.
