KHS Photography Club’s second inter-school contest showcases young visual talent; 18 schools participate.
In celebration of World Photography Day, Kasidih High School’s Photography Club successfully organized the second edition of their inter-school photography contest, FOTOGRAFÍA 2024 – The Second Shot!
JAMSHEDPUR – Kasidih High School’s Photography Club, under the guidance of Miss Shania Nanra, hosted the second edition of FOTOGRAFÍA 2024 – The Second Shot!, marking a significant celebration of World Photography Day.
This year’s event saw participation from eighteen schools across Jamshedpur, building on the success of the inaugural contest in 2023.
The contest aimed to push the creative boundaries of young photographers, challenging them with themes like Product Photography and Mirror Photography.
The event began with a cultural program and a welcome speech by Mrs. Barnita Basu, followed by the main competition.
In Group 1, for Product Photography, Govind Vidyalay, Tamulia took first place, with JH Tarapore School as the runner-up.
In Group 2, for Mirror Photography, Kerala Public School, Burmamines claimed the top spot, followed by Baldwin Farm Area High School, Kadma.
The panel of judges included prominent photographers such as Mr. Inderjeet Singh Chawla and Mr. Manjit Singh Chawla.
Principal Mr. Francis Joseph, in his address, highlighted the importance of skill development under the New Education Policy, stating, “Photography is a skill-based profession that opens up numerous career opportunities for students.”
The event concluded with a closing ceremony, where the chief guest, Mr. A. F. Madon, Administrator at Jem Foundation, lauded the efforts of the participants.
Miss Shania Nanra, in her vote of thanks, expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the core team, saying, “This event was a true testament to the talent and creativity of our young photographers.”
The competition not only celebrated photography but also encouraged students to explore it as a potential career path.
