JAMSHEDPUR – Kowali police seized three hyvas loaded with illegal sand during a night patrol operation on Saturday.
Station In-Charge Dhananjay Kumar Paswan led the team. Officers were conducting routine patrol in the area. Moreover, they received intelligence about large-scale sand smuggling activities.
The vehicles were transporting sand from Odisha illegally. Smugglers exploited darkness to avoid detection and enforcement. However, police intercepted all three hyvas during inspection.
Each vehicle carried approximately 500 CFT of sand. Total seizure amounted to 1500 CFT combined. In addition, all three hyvas have been impounded.
Police are investigating the smuggling network’s operations. The drivers are being questioned about supply chains. Meanwhile, illegal sand transportation continues to pose enforcement challenges.
