Medininagar – Acting on a tip-off, Hussainabad Circle Officer (CO) Pankaj Kumar seized two illegally sand-laden tractors on Monday morning in Beni Kala village.

The raid targeted curbing illegal sand mining activities. According to the CO, the tractors were en route to Hussainabad. Upon being signaled to stop, the drivers abandoned the vehicles and fled.

Officials stated that the vehicles were confiscated and stationed at Hussainabad police station. "This operation is part of ongoing efforts to control illegal mining in the region," said Pankaj Kumar.

Intensifying Measures Against Illegal Sand Mining

The crackdown follows reports of mafias transporting sand unlawfully from local rivers. The administration is working closely with the Palamu Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan and District Mining Officer to address the issue.

Additionally, the Circle Officer revealed plans to continue raids and enforce stricter measures. “Our focus remains on dismantling these networks,” he added.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Further legal actions have been initiated against the owner of the confiscated tractors. Meanwhile, authorities have been alerted about similar activities in nearby areas. This seizure underscores the district’s commitment to stopping environmental violations.
