Personal Leave Capped at 90 Days, Additional PL Facility Discontinued
Key Points:
- Monthly personal leave reduced to 2.5 days for OL2 and above
- Sick leave limited between 10-90 days from unlimited earlier
- Leave benefits cuts effective from January 1, 2025
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel has announced significant reductions in leave benefits for its officers through a circular issued by VP HRM Atrayee Sanyal.
The company has standardized personal leave accumulation to 90 days. Previously, officers could accumulate unlimited leave.
“The changes aim to bring uniformity in leave policies,” stated a company official.
Leave Policy Changes
The carry-forward limit has been modified. Officers can now carry forward maximum 15 days annually.
Moreover, personal leave encashment now has fixed limits. It ranges between 15 and 90 days.
Additional Cuts
The Additional Personal Leave facility will end soon. Existing APL will be encashed by December 31.
Meanwhile, sick leave now has defined limits. The range is set between 10 to 90 days.
Broader Impact
These changes follow recent benefit reductions. Travel allowances were previously curtailed.
Furthermore, mobile and internet benefits have been withdrawn. The company continues to streamline officer benefits.
“This reflects ongoing policy rationalization,” noted a source.
