Officials Attacked with Bricks During Late Night Raid on Illegal Mining

MEDININAGAR – Mining inspector Shubham Kumar faced a violent attack from sand mafia while conducting a raid on illegal mining operations in Patan police station area.
The incident occurred late Friday night near Saguna village. The mining team reached Jinjoi river following a tip-off from local resident Ranjit Singh.
“The attackers used bricks as weapons during the assault,” said a senior police official. “Additional forces were deployed after the incident.”
Operation Details
The inspection team found three tractors actively extracting sand from the river. Moreover, they attempted to seize all vehicles involved in illegal mining.
Meanwhile, the sand mafia members arrived at the scene during the seizure attempt. Furthermore, they launched a violent attack to prevent the confiscation.
Law Enforcement Response
Police have arrested one suspect, Jitendra Prasad, in connection with the attack. Additionally, authorities managed to seize one of the three tractors.
On the other hand, two vehicles escaped during the confrontation. Besides, police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
