JAMSHEDPUR – Warm clothes are being distributed to Anganwadi children as directed by the District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal.

In an initiative guided by state government orders, children aged 3 to 6 years enrolled in Anganwadi centers are receiving two sets of warm clothes. The District Magistrate instructed the Social Welfare Officer to oversee the process through the Child Development Project Office, ensuring that all enrolled children are covered during the winter.

The distribution targets 44,192 children in the district, segmented by age: 16,899 children aged 3-4, 16,569 aged 4-5, and 10,724 aged 5-6. Officials emphasized that all children should wear these clothes while attending centers during the cold season.

The state government aims to achieve 100% distribution for all registered children, ensuring their well-being during the winter. Besides this, sustained monitoring of the process is a priority to avoid lapses.

An Anganwadi worker stated, “This initiative is crucial for the children’s comfort during winter. Parents have expressed relief.” Reports suggest that similar initiatives in nearby districts have significantly improved attendance and health among children.

Such schemes highlight the government’s commitment to addressing seasonal challenges for vulnerable communities.
