RANCHI – Top Maoist commander Chhotu Kharwar was killed by fellow members after plans for his surrender emerged.

He operated across multiple Jharkhand districts.

Meanwhile, police recovered his body in Nawadih.

"Surrender talks were underway," confirmed a senior police official.

Moreover, NIA had announced Rs 3 lakh reward.

Furthermore, he faced multiple criminal charges.

In addition, a 2016 investigation revealed his financial dealings.

Besides, he controlled operations in five districts.

However, police continue investigating the killing’s motive.

On the other hand, a chit fund probe exposed his investments.
