JAMSHEDPUR – The IPL 2025 auction witnessed impressive bids for three cricketers from Jharkhand: Ishan Kishan, Robin Minz, and Kushagra Kumar. Among the highlights, wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan was picked up by Hyderabad for ₹11.25 crore, reaffirming his stature as one of India’s top players.

Robin Minz, the only tribal cricketer in IPL, was bought by Mumbai for ₹65 lakh. Hailing from Gumla, Minz considers MS Dhoni his idol. His base price was ₹30 lakh. Minz previously fetched a staggering ₹3.6 crore from Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024 but couldn’t debut due to an accident before the season began.

Meanwhile, Jamshedpur’s Kushagra Kumar was signed by Gujarat Titans for ₹65 lakh, matching his base price. Last year, he had been purchased by Delhi Capitals for ₹7.2 crore, demonstrating his growing prominence in domestic cricket.

A Resilient Comeback for Robin Minz
Robin Minz’s journey back to IPL is particularly inspiring. Overcoming injuries and setbacks, his return underlines his determination to make a mark. As Mumbai’s latest recruit, his inclusion is expected to bring diversity and skill to the team.

The IPL auction underscores Jharkhand’s contribution to Indian cricket, with players like Ishan and Kushagra also continuing to showcase their talent on the grand stage.
