Tributes paid to Birsa Munda’s statue, government buildings illuminated

MEDININAGAR – The 24th Jharkhand Foundation Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and grandeur in Palamu on Friday, coinciding with the birth anniversary of tribal hero Birsa Munda.
The district administration organized the event with extensive preparations, including illuminating the Collectorate and other government buildings.
The statue of Birsa Munda at Station Road was attractively decorated, becoming the focal point of the celebrations.
Municipal Commissioner Mohammad Javed Hussain, Deputy Development Commissioner Shabbir Ahmed, and other officials, including District Social Welfare Officer Neeta Chauhan, General Branch In-Charge Rashmi Ranjan, DPR Officer Asim Kumar, and NDC Vikram Anand, paid floral tributes to the statue.
Municipal Commissioner Hussain described Birsa Munda as a great warrior who valiantly fought against British rule to protect water, forests, and land, emphasizing that his life offers valuable lessons for everyone.
DDC Shabbir Ahmed called the day a proud moment for the state, marking both Birsa Munda’s birth and the formation of Jharkhand.
He stressed the importance of collective participation for the prosperity and holistic development of the state and district.
Political and social organizations, including the Congress, CPI, JMM, Azad Samaj Party, and Berozgar Sangharsh Morcha, also honored Birsa Munda’s legacy with tributes.
Participants pledged to uphold his ideals and work towards realizing his vision of a better Jharkhand.
