JAMTARA – Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met BJP’s rebel leader Virendra Mandal on Friday in Jamtara, aiming to address divisions within the party and strengthen BJP unity in Jharkhand.

Sarma arrived at Duladih helipad in Jamtara early Friday morning and was greeted with cheers from local BJP supporters. He proceeded directly to Mandal’s residence on Court Road, where the two held a private meeting for around an hour. According to insiders, discussions focused on candidate selection and concerns raised by BJP workers in the Jamtara and Nala constituencies.

During his visit, Sarma underscored Mandal’s commitment to social service, stating that BJP recognizes and values his contributions. "Virendra Mandal is a dedicated leader, and the BJP will ensure his work is respected," said Sarma, promising support from the Jharkhand BJP organization.

In a direct critique, Sarma condemned the Hemant Soren-led government, labeling it as “a government of Banti and Babli,” and accusing it of prioritizing leaders like Alamgir Alam and Irfan Ansari, who, he claimed, have faced corruption allegations. Sarma added that "it is society’s responsibility to remove a government that supports intruders," stressing the need to replace the Soren administration for Jharkhand’s benefit.
