Railways Announces Special Trains for Festive Season

Extra Trains to Run Between Bengal, Chennai, and Mumbai; Jabalpur Special Cancelled

To manage the surge in passenger traffic during Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath, Indian Railways has announced the operation of special trains.

JAMSHEDPUR – In anticipation of the upcoming festive season, Indian Railways has decided to operate special trains between key destinations to accommodate the increased number of passengers.

The special train MGR Chennai Central-Santragachi-MGR Chennai Central will run from September 4 to November 27. This train will depart from Chennai Central every Wednesday at 1:30 PM and reach Santragachi by 8:50 PM the following day.

On its return, Train No. 06090 will leave Santragachi from September 5 to November 28, every Thursday at 11:40 PM, arriving in Chennai on the third day at 9:00 AM. The train will halt at Balasore and Kharagpur.

Mumbai-Bengal Special Train Schedule

Similarly, Train No. 01107 LTT Mumbai-Santragachi Special will operate on October 29 and November 5, departing from LTT Mumbai at 8:15 PM and arriving in Santragachi by 5:00 AM on the third day.

The return service, Train No. 01108 Santragachi-LTT Mumbai Special, will run on October 31 and November 7, leaving Santragachi at 3:50 PM and reaching Mumbai the next day at 11:45 PM. This special train will halt at Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tatanagar, and Kharagpur.

Jabalpur-Santragachi Trains Cancelled

Due to development works in the West Central Railway, Train No. 20828 Santragachi-Jabalpur Express will be cancelled on September 18 and 25.

Likewise, Train No. 20827 Jabalpur-Santragachi Express will not run on September 19 and 26.

Commenting on the situation, a senior railway official stated, "These special trains are crucial to manage the festive rush, ensuring that passengers can travel with ease during these busy times."
