JSCA to Hold 2023-24 AGM Amid Ongoing Membership Controversy

Special committee approves 28 new memberships, but questions persist over selection process

The Jharkhand State Cricket Association plans its 2023-24 AGM for late August, with unresolved membership issues at the forefront.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) is set to hold its 2023-24 Annual General Meeting in late August, with ongoing membership disputes expected to dominate discussions.

The Committee of Management (COM) will meet on Tuesday to finalize the AGM details, including date, venue, and agenda.

This year’s meeting follows a contentious AGM in Garhwa last year, which led to the formation of a special committee to address disputes over 28 new memberships.

The special committee has unanimously approved the 28 new memberships in question.

However, concerns remain regarding the timing of membership fee submissions and alleged discrepancies in the selection process.

Critics are questioning why the COM didn’t present all relevant documents at the 2023 Garhwa AGM if they were indeed correct.

Adding to the controversy is the missing video footage from the May 1, 2022 AGM, where the initial membership proposal was passed.

The ongoing dispute highlights internal challenges within JSCA and raises questions about organizational transparency.

The upcoming AGM, tentatively scheduled for August 24th or 25th in Jamshedpur, is expected to be contentious.

This situation underscores the need for clear procedures and documentation in cricket administration to maintain trust and integrity.
