Jamshedpur: District Election Officer Holds Meeting with Private Company Managers

Discusses voter list updates due to employee relocations from demolished company quarters.

To ensure a clean and error-free voter list ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, the district administration is taking all necessary steps.

JAMSHEDPUR – A meeting chaired by District Election Officer Ananya Mittal was held with private company managers to address voter list updates due to employee relocations from demolished company quarters.

Subodh Kumar, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, State Election Commission, was also present.

The District Election Officer informed that during the second special summary revision program, BLOs conducted door-to-door verification.

It was found that many company residential quarters were demolished, or employees had relocated.

This has made verification and compliance with regulations challenging, affecting voter turnout.

Mittal emphasized that the Election Office will provide a list of such voters from Jamshedpur East and West constituencies.

Company management should match this list with their HRMS and provide new addresses or phone numbers.

This will help remove their names from the voter list of their previous location as per the Election Commission’s procedures.

He noted that 87 booths in Jamshedpur East and West had company quarters, which have been demolished.

Once the lists are matched, notices will be sent to the voters to remove their names from the old voter list.

Voters can also complete this process via the 1950 helpline number, voter helpline app, or through BLOs.

Mittal stressed the importance of public participation in this campaign to ensure maximum voter turnout in the upcoming elections.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Yogendra Prasad, Deputy Election Officer Priyanka Singh, LRDC Gautam Kumar, Dhalbhum SDO Parul Singh, and representatives from Tata Steel, JUSCO, Tata Cummins, Tata Power, Tata Motors, Wire Company, HCL/ICC Maubhandar, and UCIL.
