Chakulia municipal workers appeal to local legislator for job permanence, highlighting concerns over financial stability and family welfare. MLA assures considerate action.

JAMSHEDPUR – Chakulia Nagar Panchayat employees met with Baharagora MLA Samir Kumar Mohanty on Saturday, seeking support for permanent employment status.

Municipal staff from Chakulia approached Baharagora MLA Samir Kumar Mohanty with urgent appeals for job security.

The delegation included computer operators, sanitary supervisors, and sanitation workers currently employed on temporary bases.

Workers emphasized the critical need for permanent positions to ensure stable livelihoods and support for their families.

"Without permanent status, our elderly parents and children may end up on the streets," expressed Amit Mishra, a municipal office assistant present at the meeting.

The employees stressed that permanent roles would enable them to provide adequately for their dependents.

MLA Mohanty responded to their concerns with assurances of job retention and government consideration for permanent positions.

"No one will lose their job. The government will give due thought to making these positions permanent," Mohanty stated during the interaction.

The meeting was attended by various municipal staff members, including computer operators Durga Nath, Ashish Jyoti, and Pralabh Jha.

Also present were Arun Mahato, sanitary supervisor Asim Nath, and sanitation worker Prasenjit Das, among others.

This development highlights the ongoing challenges faced by temporary government workers in securing long-term employment stability.
