Awareness Chariots Flagged Off, Strict Action Promised Against Drug Dealers
Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren emphasized the need for public participation in making the state drug-addiction free, as he flagged off an awareness chariot for the cause.
RANCHI – Speaking at the event, Soren stated, "Strictness will also be taken for this. Strict action will be taken against drug dealers. We all not only have to be aware to curb drug abuse, but also make others aware. Only with this resolution can we make Jharkhand drug-free."
The Chief Minister stressed that everyone has a role to play in making Jharkhand a drug-free state, and prevention of drugs and narcotics is possible only with collective efforts.
Officials Take Oath for Drug-Free Jharkhand Campaign
During the event, officials took an oath to keep themselves, their families, and society away from drugs as part of the Drug-Free Jharkhand campaign.
Soren highlighted the importance of the awareness chariot as an initiative towards controlling drug abuse and making people aware of its ill effects.
He noted that various types of disorders spread in society due to drug abuse, which increases the tendency of crime among the youth.
Six Awareness Chariots Flagged Off
Chief Minister Champai Soren flagged off six awareness chariots to promote the message of a drug-free Jharkhand.
Four of these chariots are designated for Ranchi, while Ramgarh and Khunti districts will each have one chariot.
The awareness chariots will travel from cities to remote villages, educating people about the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of prevention.
Statewide Campaign from June 19 to 26
The awareness chariots are part of a statewide campaign being conducted in all districts of Jharkhand from June 19 to 26.
The initiative aims to raise awareness against drugs and reach out to people in even the most remote areas of the state.
Through this campaign, the government hopes to educate the public about the dangers of drug abuse and encourage them to take an active role in preventing its spread.
The launch of the awareness chariots and the statewide campaign demonstrates the Jharkhand government’s commitment to tackling the issue of drug addiction and creating a healthier, safer society for all its citizens.
