Champai Soren Vows Strict Action Against Negligent Officers in Housing Scheme

Chief Minister emphasizes transparency and swift progress in Abua Awas Yojana

Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren announced stringent measures against officers displaying negligence in the Abua Awas Yojana.

RANCHI – Chief Minister Champai Soren has pledged to take strict action against officers who show negligence in the Abua Awas Yojana.

He emphasized the importance of providing construction materials like sand at minimal rates to beneficiaries to facilitate housing construction.

Soren highlighted the government’s priority to offer quality education to all sections of society.

He announced the establishment of CM Schools of Excellence in every block of the state and instructed the upgrading of the 80 existing CM Schools of Excellence to match the standards of private institutions.

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of housing construction following the release of 2 lakh houses approved in the first phase under the Abua Housing Scheme.

He urged for the acceleration of the process and stressed the need for transparency in the selection of beneficiaries.

Soren directed that beneficiaries who have satisfactorily completed the first phase should receive the second installment promptly.

Soren called for the appointment of regular teachers in all CM Schools of Excellence and the continuous monitoring of facilities by Deputy Commissioners.

He emphasized the need to improve students’ performance in the 10th and 12th examinations.

Addressing Mutation Delays

Chief Minister Soren highlighted issues with the mutation process, noting that many cases remain pending without reason.

He instructed Deputy Commissioners to identify areas where mutation cases have been pending for more than 90 days and to propose actions against responsible officers.

He stressed the need to prevent illegal land transactions.

Tree Plantation Review

Soren also reviewed the Swachh Bharat Mission and linked toilet construction with the Abua Housing Scheme.

He directed Deputy Commissioners to check the ground realities of tree plantations by the Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Department, ensuring proper maintenance to achieve expansion targets.

Soren remarked, "Despite planting lakhs of trees each year, the forest expansion does not meet targets. Proper maintenance is crucial for the success of the tree plantation scheme."
