DC Ananya Mittal Inspects Cooperative College, Reviews Preparations for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

Dispatch centers, strong rooms, and counting rooms for polling parties assessed; officials directed to ensure compliance with EC norms

Jamshedpur Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Ananya Mittal conducted an inspection at the Cooperative College to assess the preparations for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

JAMSHEDPUR – During the inspection, Mittal reviewed the arrangements for the dispatch center, election material, receiving center, designated strong room, and counting room for the polling parties.

He examined various aspects, including the counting rooms, entry of party agents, depositing of EVMs in the strong room by the polling parties after voting, and the construction of counting rooms for all six assembly constituencies of the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha.

Mittal provided necessary instructions to the engineers and held discussions with senior officials to ensure the smooth conduct of the election process.

"The dispatch center for Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West, and Jugsalai assembly constituencies will be set up at the Cooperative College, while LBSM College, Karandih, will serve as the dispatch center for the polling parties of Potka, Ghatsila, and Baharagora assembly constituencies," said an official engaged in election work.

The Cooperative College has been designated as the receiving center for all the assembly constituencies, and the counting center and strong room will be built within the college building.

Mittal directed the concerned officials to ensure convenient transportation of EVMs during the election process and reviewed the necessary arrangements for the formation of all the required centers, RO and observer rooms, vehicle sheds, media centers, and security arrangements in the complex.

He emphasized strict compliance with the norms set by the Election Commission and instructed the installation of signage for the convenience of the polling parties.

In a separate development, DC Ananya Mittal and SSP Kishore Kaushal visited various blocks to assess the election preparations.

Senior district officials held a review meeting with block officials in Bodam and Patmada, inspecting the cluster and observing the arrangements.

The inspection and review meetings were attended by Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, Rural SP Rishabh Garg, PDITDA Dipankar Chaudhary, ADM Law and Order Ananth Kumar, Director NEP, SOR, DTO, SDM Dhalbhum, Deputy Election Officer, District Public Relations Officer, BDO, CO of the concerned block, DSP Patmada, and police station in-charge.
