Sita Soren Interacts with Media, Slams JMM Leadership

BJP Extends Full Support to Sita Soren Amid Criticism of JMM’s Neglect

In a significant political move in Ranchi, Sita Soren, the newly declared BJP candidate for Dumka, has openly criticized her former party, JMM, highlighting her switch to BJP as a step towards fulfilling her late husband Durga Soren’s dreams. Soren emphasized her respect and admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating her belief in his vision for Jharkhand’s development.

RANCHI – Sita Soren, who has recently joined BJP and is now contesting Dumka seat for BJP, today interacted with the media flanked by BJP leaders.

Sita Soren has made headlines by expressing her dissatisfaction with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), particularly over the party’s failure to honor her late husband Durga Soren.

Soren’s transition to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been fueled by her aspiration to see Jharkhand emerge from what she describes as a state of darkness, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Highlighting her grievances, Soren recounted her unsuccessful efforts to have a statue of Durga Soren erected at Jama More, accusing the JMM of neglect and disrespect towards her husband’s legacy.

She further criticized the JMM for not supporting her following the death of her husband, marking a significant point of contention leading to her departure from the party.

Soren’s association with the BJP marks a new chapter in her political career, expressing optimism for the future and honoring the memory of her husband.

In a statement, Soren emphasized the contrast between her experiences with the JMM and her new political home, praising the BJP for its principles and leadership under Prime Minister Modi.

Soren accused Kalpana Soren of omitting any mention of Durga Soren during her political debut in Giridih, interpreting this as an insult to her late husband’s memory.

Reflecting on her 14-year tenure with the JMM, Soren conveyed her dissatisfaction with the party’s inability to realize her husband’s vision, prompting her switch to the BJP.

Sita Soren’s decision to join the BJP was described as a significant move motivated by her desire for respect and to fulfill her late husband’s ambitions for Jharkhand.

"Leaving the JMM was a pivotal decision for me, driven by the need to preserve my dignity and pursue my husband’s dreams," Soren stated, underscoring her commitment to her new political path.

According to a party official, “Sita Soren’s addition to BJP is not just a political move but a step towards realising the dreams of Durga Soren for Jharkhand.”

A local supporter remarked, “Sita Soren’s courage to change parties for her late husband’s vision is inspiring. It’s a testament to her commitment to his legacy.”
