Special Arrangements in Jharkhand to Ensure Fair and Peaceful Elections
The Election Commission has made extensive arrangements to prevent the use of money power in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, with special measures being implemented in Jharkhand to ensure strict adherence to the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of India.
RANCHI – According to Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar, several steps have been taken to guarantee that the elections are conducted in a peaceful and fair manner, in line with the Election Commission’s guidelines.
Teams comprising officials from the Income Tax Department, Commercial Tax Department, District Administration, and Election Commission will be formed to monitor passenger movement at airports, bus stands, and railway stations.
The Election Commission team will also keep a close watch on the movement of cash determined by the Commission.
Vigilance on Candidates’ Expenditure
To monitor candidates’ expenditure, control rooms are being set up at the district and state levels in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
These control rooms will operate round the clock, facilitating prompt action in response to any information or complaint received, as stated by Deputy Election Officer Neha Arora.
Toll-Free Number 1950 for Lodging Complaints
The public can report any information or complaint to the Election Commission by dialing the toll-free number 1950 along with the district’s STD code. The Commission has set a time limit of 100 minutes to take action on complaints received from the general public.
