Anand Marg’s Initiative Enhances Biodiversity and Medicinal Knowledge
Anand Marg Universal Relief Team Global Jamshedpur spearheads a unique initiative, distributing 50 rare saplings, including Sita, Ashok, and Triphala, near Sonari Kabir Temple and Gadra Anand Marg Jagriti to counter environmental imbalance and enhance biodiversity.
JAMSHEDPUR – An innovative environmental initiative has been launched by Anand Marg Universal Relief Team Global in Jamshedpur, focusing on the distribution of rare saplings including Sita Ashoka, known for its unique red flowers, and Triphala, near religious sites to promote biodiversity and medicinal awareness.
The distribution campaign, running from January 31 to February 27, aims to utilize the safe environments of religious places for sapling planting, operating daily between 6:00 am and 8:00 am.
In a move to address environmental degradation and promote greenery, the initiative has chosen Sonari Kabir Temple’s vicinity for the sapling distribution, ensuring a secure location for the growth of these plants.
This green drive is part of Anand Marg’s broader effort to mitigate natural imbalances and contribute to environmental restoration, in collaboration with PCAP Jamshedpur.
Sunil Anand highlighted the medicinal significance and availability of Sita Ashoka, distinguishing it from the common Ashoka plant, and emphasized its therapeutic benefits in yogic practices.
The campaign underscores the importance of Sita Ashoka in traditional medicine, with its flowers, bark, and root being essential components in treatments, particularly for women’s health issues.
Anand Marg’s initiative also celebrates the cultural and mythological significance of the Ashoka tree, noting its presence in sacred rituals and its association with joy and wellbeing.
By distributing saplings of species such as Sita Ashoka and Triphala, the organization aims to enrich the local flora, enhance ecological balance, and foster a deeper understanding of nature’s medicinal treasures.
