Major Crackdown on Sand Mafias in Baharagora, Jamshedpur; 7300 CFT Sand Seized

The administration in Jamshedpur takes stern action against sand mafia, seizing 7300 CFT of illegally stored sand and lodging an FIR against three individuals and a JCB owner.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant blow to sand mafias, the local administration led by Sub-Divisional Officer Satyaveer Rajak conducted a late-night raid in Baharagora block, Ghatshila, seizing approximately 7300 CFT of illegally stored sand.

The authorities have registered an FIR against three individuals – Birsa Munda, Debu Ojha, Bhimsen Kuntiya, as well as the owner of a seized JCB involved in the illicit activity.

The action was based on confidential information received about illegal sand storage and sales late at night. Upon investigation in the village of Jharia, the team discovered a JCB and 1300 CFT of sand stored unlawfully.

The driver, upon spotting the police team, attempted to escape but was subsequently apprehended. Further investigations led to the discovery of an additional 6000 CFT of sand, bringing the total to 7300 CFT.
