AITUC addresses anti-labor policies, wage codes, and calls for workers’ unity and struggle.
Jamshedpur – The first-ever conference of the Cement Kamgar Union was held at the RL Modak Auditorium of Shri Ram Marriage Hall in Barigora on Sunday.
The event began with the hoisting of the ATTC flag by senior comrade Com BN Singh, followed by tributes paid to departed leaders at Shaheed Bedi.
Members entered the auditorium chanting slogans such as “Long live labor unity,” “Long live AITUC,” and “Workers of the world unite.
The conference was inaugurated by AITUC Jharkhand State Deputy General Secretary Com Om Prayas Singh, who expressed concern over the central government’s anti-labor policies, rising inflation, expensive education, and increasing unemployment.
Singh informed the laborers about the upcoming four labour laws in favor of capitalists and called for a struggle against them.
Guests of Honour Com Bhuvneshwar Tiwari and Com Heera Arkane addressed the conference, strongly criticizing the government’s anti-life policies, privatization of government institutions, and loan waiver policies for capitalists.
They urged the attendees to join an organized struggle against these policies.
General Secretary Ambuj Kumar Thakur presented a detailed report of the previous tenure, which was unanimously passed by Com ML Khatri, Com Ajay Singh, Com Sunita, Com Manoj Singh, Ashok Singh, Bhaskar Rai, and AK Tiwari.
Com Ajay Singh also presented the statement of account, which was unanimously approved.
Senior colleague BN Singh addressed the gathering, and under the direction of the President, Comrade Ambuj Kumar Thakur proposed the names of office bearers and members of the new executive for the next three years.
These proposals were also unanimously passed.
The conference concluded with Com Satendra Singh expressing gratitude to the guests and members for their contributions in making the event a success.
The Cement Kamgar Union’s first conference has set the stage for a united front against anti-labor policies and in support of workers’ rights.
