Leader Suresh Mukhi and protestors warn of fierce agitation if demands are not met soon
Jamshedpur: On Monday, residents of Harijan Basti in Dhatkidih, Bistupur, located within the Tata command area, staged a protest in front of the Jusco office, demanding improved sanitation, toilet facilities, and street light repairs in their community.
Led by the leader of Mukhi community, Suresh Mukhi, the protesters submitted a memorandum outlining their 5-point demands and urged the Jusco authorities to address these concerns within 15 days.

Suresh Mukhi warned that if the demands are not met within the stipulated time frame, the residents will be compelled to launch a more intense agitation to ensure their grievances are heard and resolved.
The protest highlights the ongoing issues faced by the residents of Harijan Basti, who have been struggling with inadequate infrastructure and lack of basic amenities for a considerable time.
The 15-day deadline set by the protesters is ostensibly meant to put pressure on Jusco and the local authorities to take swift action in addressing the issues raised by the residents.

As the deadline approaches, it remains to be seen how the Jusco authorities will respond to the demands and whether they will be able to prevent further escalation of discontent in Harijan Basti.
