Congress WC member Dr. Ajoy Kumar has written a letter to the CM Hemant Soren and indirectly advised him to roll back the decision to allocate Namaz Room in Assembly Building to keep religion and politics separate.
Ranchi: Dr. Ajoy Kumar, the former MP of Jamshedpur and the former State President of Jharkhand Congress and a member of Congress Working Committee has called upon the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren to not religion with politics and take appropriate decision on the issue of allocation of namaz room in Jharkhand Assembly building.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, the former MP said that religion and politics should not be combined and Assembly is a temple of democracy and should be kept away from any religious custom.
He wrote that keeping the recent development on religious sentiments in mind, he would like to request the government to keep religion and politics separate in a secular country like India.

He said that Assembly is a place where where all MLAs and ministers discuss issues relating to the state. Religion has been playing important role for a long time, but political rule and religious customs are two separate aspects and should not be combined.
He said that India has multiple religions, yet people live happily together. If any political party supports any particular religion, then it may engender friction and would cause problems in treating people of all religions equally and this may hinder development of the country.
He urged the CM to listen to his advice and take steps to keep religion away from the temple of democracy. He said that this would be in the interest of the country and would help in respecting religious sentiments of the people.
