Dr. Ajoy Kumar flays Modi Govt policies, calls it anti-farmer and anti-labour

Ex-MP describes Rahul Gandhi as “bravest, most honest and cleanest” leader

Jamshedpur: Dr. Ajoy Kumar, ex-MP, Jamshedpur and former president of Jharkhand Congress today launched a scathing attack on BJP and its governments at the Centre and said that it has failed on all fronts of governance.

Addressing a press conference at Tilak Pustakalaya Sunday, he said that he is in politics with an aim to help people. He said that he does not help people for votes, but because he thinks it to be a good work. He said that he would try his best to do his work.

Dr. Ajoy Kumar has recently re-joined Congress party after quitting AAP. Dr. Ajoy Kumar arrived in Jamshedpur for the first time after re-joining the party on 27th September, 2020. He was accorded a warm welcome at Jubilee Park gate on Saturday by Youth Congress supporters.

Criticising the BJP policies as being against farmers, he said that the bills passed by NDA government was different from the one envisaged by Congress. He said that Congress was for legislation on MSP, while the BJP in the current law has kept the MSP vulnerable and without protection.

Asked about his re-joining Congress, he said that he has never had any grievance against the party leadership as was clear from his resignation letter that he had submitted when he quit the party. He said that in his view, Rahul Gandhi is the bravest, most honest, cleanest and ‘heera jaise dil wale’ leader.

He said that Rahul had warned about drug menace in Punjab. At that time people laughed at him. He also called demonetisation a big mistake. He pointed out the problems in covid strategy and also pointed out the loopholes in farm bill.

The problem is that he warns us beforehand, but we understand him much later.

He also criticised China policy of Modi government and said that it has done precious little to regain the land lost to China. He said that despite this loss of land, the media too is focused on frivolous issues like Sushant Singh Rajput and Deepika Padukone. He said that unemployment, farm bill, rape etc are the real issues that should be discussed in public more.

He said that the Modi government is not doing anything to help the people reeling under the adverse economic impact of lockdown. He said that the latest data show dismal performance on the front of GDP, yet the government has not been learning lessons.

Dr. Ajoy Kumar said that India has crossed even US in terms of daily deaths due to Covid-19 as more than 1 lakh people have died. He said that thanks to Modi government’s faulty handling of Covid-19, India has got the distinction of being a “Vishwa Guru” in covid-19 deaths.

He also charged Modi government of being anti-labour and said that the labour laws are unjust to labourers of unorganised sector. He said that factories with less than 300 work force will not have to follow any labour laws. He said that Gujarat state government had even tried to push through a law wherein a worker would not have got any payment for overtime.
