26 Jharkhand boys and girls rescued in Delhi, being brought back

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has rescued 26 boys and girls from different areas of Delhi. All these boys and girls are now being brought back to Jharkhand and are being sent to their respective home districts.

The government confirmed that 26 boys and girls of Jharkhand have been rescued from Delhi from the custody of people indulging in human trafficking. They are being brought back to Jharkhand.

Earlier in July itself, 21 children were rescued and handed over to their families. These children belonged to Sahebganj, West Singhbhum, Gumla, Dhanbad, Simdega and Bokaro districts of Jharkhand.

A total of 47 children have been rescued from the clutch of human traffickers in July.

These children have been rescued from different places of Delhi by the Integrated Rehabilitation-cum-Resource Center, Jharkhand Bhawan, New Delhi as per the directions of the Resident Commissioner Mastram Meena with the co-operation of Delhi Police.

The Resident Commissioner has said that the children being sent to Jharkhand will be linked with various welfare schemes run in the district and monitored continuously.

The Integrated Rehabilitation-cum-Resource Center plays an important role for the victims of human trafficking from being rescued till their rehabilitation.

IRRC is committed for the repatriation of the victims to their home districts safely by contacting contact with Child Welfare Committees, Children Homes and Delhi Police of Delhi-NCR and bordering States.

The helpline number 10582 has been issued by the Integrated Rehabilitation Resource Center which is 24 hours operational.

Counseling and home verification of all rescued boys and girls is done by the personnel of Integrated Rehabilitation-cum-Resource Center through District Child Protection Officer.

The Deputy Resident Commissioner cum Senior In-charge IRRC Shri Shahenshah Ali Khan, Nodal Officer Smt. Nachiketa Mishra, Program Coordinator Shri Sunil Kumar Gupta, Consultant Nirmala Khalkho, Prince Kumar, Manju Thakur and core team members sent by the state which includes Ashok Nayak, Omprakash Tiwari, Anmol Kumari, Sushila Sundi have played a major role.
