Seraikela: In a major achievement, Seraikela-Kharsawan police have cracked a dacoity case within 10 days and have also arrested four persons involved in the crime including the mastermind.

Giving details about the success, the SP of Seraikela-Kharsawan Md. Arshi said that the crime was perpetrated on 19th November, 2020 at night at the warehouse of SKF at Ramgarh in Chandil. He said that around 10-11 persons had looted bearings stocked by the warehouse and had escaped with the loot.

Mr. Arshi said that the police were investigating the case. Working meticulously on different leads, the police were able to crack the case and arrest four persons involved in the crime, including the mastermind of the crime.

One pistol, three cartridges and four mobile phones used in the crime was also seized from the possession of the accused.

He said that Sonu alias Dengue of Parsudih, Chhotu Kumar alias Laden of Parsudih, Suraj Mahato alias Bachha and Jharkhand Mahato have been arrested.

A vehicle used in the incident was also seized by the police.

The looted wares were kept in a house. The house has been identified and the house owner too has been apprehended.

The accused have sold off the looted bearings. A team was formed under the leadership of SDPO and the officer-in-charge. The found solid leads and working on them was able to crack the case.

The SP said that the bearings were sold off in black market. The bearings were valued at around Rs. 5 lakh.

The accused had distributed the money obtained after selling the looted bearings.

The arrested accused have had a history of involvement in different crimes, the SP said.
