Angry Locals Protest, Transporter Pays 3 Lakh Compensation to Road Accident Victim’s Family

Jamshedpur: Locals organised angry protests at the Burmamines police station on Friday against the road accident that killed Ritik Kumar, a youth from Laxmi Nagar.

Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy intervened in the case. He had sent a delegation to meet the officer-in-charge.

The delegation urged the officer-in-charge to ensure that adequate compensation was paid to the victim’s family.

The officer-in-charge organised a meeting between the transporter, who truck was involved in the road accident, and the family members.

Finally, an agreement was reached. The transporter paid Rs. 3 lakh cheque as compensation and Rs. 10 thousand in cash for cremation.

The delegation included Hareram Singh, Sagar Tiwari, Kamal Kishore, Navin Kumar and other leaders.

It may be recalled that Ritik Kumar died in a road accident near Burmamines Sunsunia Gate. He was run over by a truck.

The locals informed Burmamines Police about the accident. The police arrived at the place and sent the dead body for post mortem.

The accident occurred at around 8 at night.
