Jamshedpur: In a tragic accident, a 12-year-old boy Samir Nayak son of Tuknu Naik alias Sanjay Naik drowned in Subarnrekha river today near Chhath Ghat at Ram Nagar while bathing.
The deceased was son of Tuknu Nayak, a resident of Shyam Nagar Sanskosai Road No. 1.
The deceased child was a student of class 4 in Sankosai J P School. He had gone to take a dip in the river at around 9 a.m. with his friends.
The residents of the bustee said that there is not much water in the river, but the river bank is slippery and he might have slipped.
Samir’s father is a mason and he goes to work along with his wife. Bustee residents took the child to MGMCH, where he was declared dead.
