Patrons, Office Bearers, and Members Convene to Discuss Event Details and Festivities
The East Singhbhum District Marwari Conference held a meeting under the chairmanship of Mukesh Mittal ji at Agrasen Bhawan to discuss the upcoming Rajasthan Day celebrations on April 16, with enthusiastic participation from elders, youth, and women of the society.
JAMSHEDPUR – In a meeting organized at Agrasen Bhawan, patrons, office bearers, and esteemed members of the East Singhbhum District Marwari Conference gathered to deliberate on the arrangements for the grand Rajasthan Day celebrations scheduled for April 16, 2024.
Chairman Mukesh Mittal highlighted the historical significance of Rajasthan Day, noting that the state, initially named Rajputana, was established on March 30, 1949, and later renamed Rajasthan.
Mittal emphasized the uniqueness of the day, stating, "For all of us Rajasthanis, Rajasthan Day is a festive occasion that celebrates the pride of our culture and our state."
Due to the proximity of Khatu Shyam ji’s Fagun fair and Holi festival to Rajasthan Day this year, the Marwari society has decided to celebrate the event with great fervor on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at Dhalbhum Club Ground, Sakchi.
Outlining the event’s attractions, Mittal mentioned the inclusion of Chowki-Dhani, puppet dance, Rajasthani costumes, Rajasthani cuisine, and children’s entertainment, such as swings.
Om Prakash Ringsiya, Vice President of Jharkhand Provincial Marwari Conference, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, saying, "Rajasthan Day is a perfect opportunity for us to showcase our rich cultural heritage and celebrate the spirit of unity within our community."
Several prominent members of the Marwari community, including Suresh Sonthalia, Pawan Aggarwal, Bina Khirwal, Alok Chaudhary, and Bharat Vasani, shared their views during the meeting.
Participants enthusiastically offered suggestions, such as arranging parking in the common garden ground, maximizing publicity for Rajasthan Day, naming stalls after major Rajasthani cities, and donning Rajasthani turbans.
The meeting also reached key decisions to ensure the event’s success, including setting a donation amount of Rs 11,000 per donor and a contribution of Rs 100 from other society members to encourage widespread participation.
"We want to ensure that everyone in our community can participate in this grand celebration without any financial burden," said Suresh Sonthalia, former General Secretary of East Singhbhum District Marwari Conference.
The importance of free entry and food for all attendees was repeatedly emphasized throughout the meeting.
Naveen Aggarwal conducted the proceedings, while Kishore Golcha proposed the vote of thanks, and the meeting concluded with refreshments.
