JAMSHEDPUR – Every year on the death anniversary of national wrestling player late Mangal Singh, an interstate wrestling game is organized in Jamshedpur.
However, this year, a change was introduced with an international sports volleyball competition taking the place of wrestling.
A total of 27 teams from various states of India, including Jharkhand, are participating in this newly formatted event.
The competition aims to honor the late Mangal Singh, who was a significant figure in the wrestling world, and simultaneously create a lively atmosphere for the children in the community.
The change in sports was also seen as a way to foster good health among children.
The event was inaugurated by MLA Saryu Roy, who represents Jamshedpur East.
During the inauguration, he commended the effort to organize such a game, highlighting its potential benefits for the health and well-being of the local children.
