Olchiki Examination for Santhali Students Concludes in Jadugoda

Three-day Exam for Primary to Intermediate Students Successfully Held

The three-day Olchiki examination for Santhali students, held from 5th to 7th June at the Community Development Building in Narwa Pahad USIL Colony, Jadugoda, concluded on Friday.

JAMSHEDPUR – The three-day Olchiki examination for Santhali students, held from 5th to 7th June at the Community Development Building in Narwa Pahad USIL Colony, Jadugoda, concluded on Friday.

On the final day, USIL Deputy General Manager Manoranjan Mahali and the company’s administrative officer Stalin Hembram visited the examination center to encourage the 54 Olchiki students.

The event saw the presence of Adivasi Recreation Welfare Society General Secretary Lobo Murmu, Adivasi Socio Educational and Cultural Association members Shankar Soren, Charan Kisku, Surai Murmu, Buddheshwar Baske, Dharma Murmu, and Babulal Hembram.

The Olchiki examination was conducted by Bhurka: Imil Olchiki Hatum Asada Murga Ghootu, an initiative run by the Adivasi Recreation Welfare Society.

General Secretary Lobo Murmu and Shankar Soren mentioned that four examination centers were established in East Singhbhum district.

At the Narwa Pahad USIL Colony center, 54 participants took the exam, while 70 students participated at Youth Club Karandih, 70 participants at K Kocha (Baharagora), and 50 children at another center in Baharagora.

The examination covered questions related to literature, social studies, mathematics, geography, science, traditional customs of the tribals, and Sarna religion.

The successful completion of the exam highlighted the community’s dedication to preserving and promoting the Olchiki script and Santhali culture.

"The enthusiasm and participation of the students in this examination reflect the growing interest in Santhali education and culture," said a community leader.

The efforts of the Adivasi Recreation Welfare Society and other associations were praised for their role in organizing the event.
