Decomposed Body Found in Mango’s Murda Maidan Bushes, Identity Unknown

Azadnagar Police Launch Probe as Body Sent for Postmortem

Key Points:

  • Decomposed body found in Mango’s Murda Maidan bushes
  • Police unable to identify the deceased so far
  • Postmortem ordered, missing persons records being checked

JAMSHEDPUR – Police in Mango’s Azadnagar area are probing the discovery of a badly decomposed, unidentified man’s body found on Monday.

Local youths first spotted the body while walking near the bushes of Murda Maidan in the evening. They noticed a strong odor coming from the spot and moved closer to investigate.

On closer inspection, they realized the body appeared to have been lying there for several days. Word spread quickly, and a large crowd soon gathered at the scene.

Residents alerted the nearby Azadnagar police station. Officers arrived shortly afterward and took charge of the body.

The police also inspected the surrounding area for any additional clues. However, they could not immediately determine the identity of the deceased.

Investigators believe the body may have been lying among the bushes for multiple days before it was discovered. This is suspected to be the reason for its severe state of decomposition.

It remains unclear whether the death occurred under natural circumstances or involved foul play. However, a police officer said all possible angles are being examined.

Meanwhile, the body has been sent for a postmortem examination. Officials expect the report to help clarify the cause of death.

In addition, police are cross-checking missing person complaints registered at nearby police stations. This step is aimed at establishing the identity of the deceased.

Such cases are not entirely unfamiliar to Jamshedpur police, who have separately handled other unidentified-body and violent-crime cases recently. Officers earlier probed a case involving a young man’s body found under suspicious circumstances in Sitaramdera. In a separate case last week, a teenager’s body found hanging was also reported in the same locality.

Besides such cases, Jamshedpur has also witnessed a string of violent incidents in recent days. These include an attack in Mango over an old dispute and a Telco cleaver attack on a delivery worker.

On the other hand, police recently made progress in the high-profile Nikhar Sablok case, arresting six accused. A fatal Sakchi accident was also reported in the city this week.
