JAMSHEDPUR – Hundreds of members of the Bhumij community descended on Potka MLA Sanjeev Sardar’s residential office at Turamdihi with drums and fanfare on Tuesday to celebrate a landmark decision. The Jharkhand government has included the Bhumij language in the J-TET 2026 examination, a move seen as a historic milestone for the community.

Members of the delegation said Sanjeev Sardar had consistently raised the community’s voice for its rights, dignity, and identity. They credited his persistent efforts for the historic recognition now accorded to the Bhumij language in the field of education.

“This decision will open new doors for our youth to advance in their own mother tongue,” said a delegation member.
