JAMSHEDPUR — The Surya Mandir Samiti at Sidhgora has completed all preparations for the Chaiti Chhath Puja, with service camps, illuminated decor, and cleansed ponds ready to welcome large numbers of devotees.

The Surya Mandir Samiti president Bhupendra Singh issued a press statement on Monday. He said all arrangements were finalized under the guidance of the temple’s chief patron and former Chief Minister Raghubar Das and patron Chandragupta Singh.

Both ponds within the Surya Mandir premises have been thoroughly cleaned. They have been filled with fresh, pure water for the rituals.

The entire temple complex has been adorned with colourful lighting and flowers. Moreover, special service camps have been set up within the premises for the comfort of fasting devotees.

On Wednesday, the day of the morning arghya, the service camps will offer raw cow’s milk, incense sticks, tea, and drinking water to devotees. On Tuesday, the day of the evening arghya, chilled sharbat will be distributed to worshippers.

As in previous years, a large number of devotees are expected to gather at the Chhath venue. The samiti has accordingly tightened security arrangements. Local administration officials and hundreds of samiti members will remain deployed at all times.

Bhupendra Singh said devotees will offer arghya to Lord Bhaskar on a first-come, first-served basis at the ghat. In addition, a medical camp and changing rooms have been arranged within the complex. These facilities aim to ensure no inconvenience to any Chhath devotee.

He also appealed to devotees to visit the Surya Mandir and offer arghya to Lord Bhaskar on the occasion of Chaiti Chhath. The entry gates of all ghats inside the temple complex will be opened at 2 PM.
