JAMSHEDPUR – Police in Govindpur are investigating a case where a woman allegedly stole jewellery worth lakhs after promising marriage to a local youth.

The incident occurred in Prakash Nagar locality of Garudbasa. The area falls under Chhota Govindpur police station limits.

Meanwhile, the complainant was identified as Nikhil Singh. He is a resident of the Govindpur area.

Moreover, Nikhil said he met a woman named Pooja Pandey earlier. She was staying in a paying guest accommodation in the city.

During their interaction, the woman reportedly promised marriage. Gradually, both developed close relations.

Meanwhile, a sacred thread ceremony was organized at Nikhil’s home. The woman attended the event and mingled with family members.

Moreover, relatives said she slowly gained the family’s trust. She actively participated during the ceremony.

However, the suspicion began after the ceremony on March 6. Nikhil’s aunt needed to take out her mangalsutra.

Further inquiry revealed another startling detail. The accused woman was reportedly already married.
