RANCHI – A sudden fire broke out at Khadgara bus stand in Ranchi, destroying six parked buses.
The fire erupted suddenly inside the Khadgara bus stand premises. However, flames quickly spread to nearby parked buses.
Within minutes, six buses were engulfed by the blaze. Meanwhile, thick smoke covered the entire terminal area.
The intensity of flames created panic among people present nearby. As a result, several people ran away fearing explosions.
Some bystanders attempted to douse the fire despite serious personal risk. On the other hand, the situation remained uncontrollable initially.
Police teams reached the spot soon after receiving information. Subsequently, the fire department was alerted immediately.
Fire tenders arrived and began firefighting operations at the site. Meanwhile, efforts focused on stopping further spread.
Officials said the exact cause of the fire remained unknown. However, damage assessment was expected after cooling operations.
Earlier, a house fire caused property damage in Sarjamda. Similarly, a car fire occurred near Tatanagar station.
Previously, a tyre godown blaze was reported near Jugsalai tracks. Moreover, a moving car fire was reported in Golmuri.
Authorities earlier ordered a fire safety audit after a major tragedy elsewhere.
