Sangharsh Samiti Gets 45 Days to Appeal Against January 3 Judgment

Key Points:

  • NCELT orders Vedanta to complete cable company handover within 90 days
  • Workers committee to appeal Supreme Court challenging tribunal’s decision
  • Pending dues of Rs 21.63 crore owed to cable company workers

JAMSHEDPUR – Cable Company Sangharsh Samiti will challenge NCELT’s verdict ordering handover to Vedanta within 45 days.

The National Company Law Tribunal issued judgment on January 3. It directed Vedanta to complete handover procedures promptly. Moreover, the company must inform court within 90 days.

The struggle committee received 45-day appeal window. They plan to challenge tribunal’s decision strongly. Supreme Court will hear their appeal soon.

Advocate Akhilesh Kumar Chaudhary represented workers at press conference. He termed NCELT’s decision illegal and one-sided. The tribunal verdict lacked proper consideration, he stated.

The lawyer alleged financial irregularities influenced the judgment. Vedanta manipulated the process through monetary transactions, he claimed. However, legal options remain available for workers.

Chaudhary outlined their appeal strategy for reporters. They will present specific points before higher court. The committee aims to prevent handover completely.

Workers’ pending dues amount to Rs 21.63 crore. The struggle committee will seek recovery through appeal. Financial claims form crucial part of their case.

The advocate emphasized their firm stance on handover. Vedanta won’t receive cable company control at any cost. Workers remain determined to protect their rights.

Legal experts are reviewing tribunal’s judgment thoroughly. They’re identifying grounds for successful appeal preparation. Strategic arguments will strengthen their position significantly.

The committee plans comprehensive documentation for Supreme Court. They will submit evidence supporting their allegations. Previous hearings provide additional reference material too.

Workers expressed confidence in legal recourse available. They believe justice will prevail eventually. Union representatives continue mobilizing support for their cause.
