Soren Questions Minister’s Conduct, Flags RIMS Land Concerns

JAMSHEDPUR – A sharp political clash erupted after Champai Soren accused Jharkhand’s health minister of unsafe conduct and raised fresh concerns over RIMS land issues.
Former Chief Minister Champai Soren alleged that the health minister sat in an OPD as a doctor despite not featuring in the authorised medical registry. However, he claimed that such acts could endanger patients.
Moreover, he said that hospitals face disorder, with reports of infected blood use. He added that images of patients on cots surface often.
On the other hand, he questioned alleged encroachment of RIMS land. He noted claims of an apartment rising without formal approval.
He further asked if land at Nagri for RIMS-2 would have met the same fate. A BJP source close to Champai Soren said comparable worries had circulated earlier. “People fear unchecked projects,” the source said.
Meanwhile, during his recent visit to the city, minister Dr Irfan Ansari inaugurated a 100-bed fabricated unit at Jamshedpur Sadar Hospital. He also opened a sickle cell lab. Besides, he distributed mobility aids to beneficiaries.
In addition, earlier controversies involving the minister had sparked protests near Sonari. However, political sparks between BJP and Congress leaders continue to fly.
Recently, the state health minister had visited Jamshedpur and he had even inaugurated a new sickle cell lab in the city Sadar Hospital.
BJP has had a history of criticizing Dr. Irfan Ansari on various issues, including his remarks on several occasions.
Besides, Champai Soren linked the current row to past land disputes around RIMS.
