Key Points:

  • Police detain three colleagues on murder complaint
  • Family to reach city before autopsy is conducted

JAMSHEDPUR – A highway construction worker died after a violent incident near Turiabeda, prompting police to arrest three colleagues on murder charges.

Pratap Singh worked on NH expansion work. He handled steel plate tasks with his relatives. However, a call alerted the site foreman about plate placement progress. The foreman, on the other hand, advised caution.

A second call went unanswered. Then a return call reported an assault on Pratap. Moreover, the injured worker had been rushed to a hospital.

Doctors at MGM later declared him dead. His body now remains at the cold storage unit. However, his family from Punjab will arrive on Tuesday. The autopsy will then proceed.

Police have detained JasKaran Singh, Vishal and Arshpreet Singh. They face murder charges based on a complaint filed by Pratap’s nephew. The incident occurred three days earlier.

Investigators have begun questioning the accused. They are also examining worker statements. Besides, officers are assessing the construction site area to verify events.

Meanwhile, prior crime cases in the region, like the Sirkatola Baridih killing, have heightened scrutiny of local policing. On the other hand, past delays in the MGM police response drew judicial concern. Besides, the Kadma murder investigation previously led to swift arrests. In addition, the police constable case highlighted internal misconduct issues. Furthermore, the Cable Town case underscored recurring homicide patterns.
