Rhythms of the Earth Releases Second Album with Multi-Tribal Band

JAMSHEDPUR – Samvaad 2025’s second day focused on tribal identity, traditional knowledge systems and cultural preservation on Saturday.

Tribal communities gathered from across India for the event. Knowledge keepers and young leaders participated in sessions. Moreover, artists showcased diverse cultural expressions throughout the day.

Morning sessions explored multiple thematic areas comprehensively. Art and handicraft discussions traced traditional forms’ origins. However, healing practice sessions examined indigenous medical knowledge systems.

The Akhara segment highlighted ecological wisdom and nature connections. Traditional cuisine sessions emphasized local culinary heritage preservation. Besides, community dialogues featured women filmmakers sharing their perspectives.

Samvaad Fellowship discussions covered tangible and intangible heritage aspects. Storytelling traditions received particular attention during these sessions. In addition, narrative evolution within tribal communities was examined.

Rhythms of the Earth marked a major milestone. India’s first multi-tribal composer-based band includes 44 talented artists. Furthermore, they released their second album collaborating with Ladakh’s Da Shags.

The album will launch on Tata Steel Foundation’s channel. It represents eight years of musical collaboration efforts. Meanwhile, the band provides platform for tribal voices and creative expression.

Cultural performances continued energizing the venue throughout Saturday. Oraon, Mavilan, Mizo and Pawar tribes presented distinct traditions. On the other hand, Featherheads from Manipur concluded evening with vibrant performance.

Tata Steel Foundation CEO Sourav Roy addressed the gathering. He emphasized Samvaad’s role as multifaceted dialogue platform. However, he highlighted tribal voices as future’s powerful architects.

The eight-year journey brought musicians together meaningfully, Roy noted. This second album demonstrates communities’ deep faith in collaboration. Moreover, it reflects commitment toward shared cultural expression journey.

Atithi food pop-up showcased traditional tribal cuisines extensively. The stall featured starters, main courses and desserts. Besides, visitors could order through Zomato for home delivery.

The pop-up operates daily from 3 PM until 9 PM. Traditional recipes and disappearing local flavors were highlighted. In addition, authentic tribal kitchen aromas attracted many visitors.

Gopal Maidan hosted extensive art and handicraft exhibition. Thirty-four unique art styles were displayed across venues. Furthermore, 51 outlets presented home decor, paintings and textiles.

The exhibition covered 18 states and 30 tribal communities. Jewelry and traditional creations showcased India’s rich heritage. Meanwhile, cultural preservation efforts received significant attention.

Traditional healers from 24 tribes demonstrated practices across outlets. Twelve states were represented in healing demonstrations. However, lifestyle disease treatment received special focus this year.

Chiropractic methods and infertility treatments were featured prominently. Thirty outlets displayed various indigenous healing approaches. On the other hand, traditional knowledge systems gained recognition.

Samvaad 2025 continues for three more days with intensive programming. Communities will celebrate shared heritage together throughout. Moreover, learning opportunities extend across multiple knowledge domains.

Previous Samvaad editions have successfully celebrated tribal diversity. The festival format enables direct cultural exchange and dialogue. Besides, tribal arts have gained wider recognition through these platforms.
